Die Veranstaltung wird in Präsenz stattfinden mit einzelnen digitalen Elementen.
Wir werden uns regelmäßig in Präsenz zu Einführungs- und Diskussionssitzungen treffen. Zusätzlich wird es im Lernraum und Lernraum+ kleine Übungsaufgaben geben und Sie werden in Kleingruppen eine Präsentation in Form eines 10-minütigen Videos vorbereiten.

In diesem Lektürekurs soll das Buch "Making up the mind: how the brain creates our mental world" von Chris Frith (2007, erschienen bei Blackwell Publishing) gemeinsam gelesen und in den Sitzungen diskutiert werden.
 Wir werden uns zum Beipsiel Fragen wie die folgenden stellen: Wie konstruiert das Gehirn unser mentales Erleben, (z.B. unsere physikalische und kulturelle Umwelt, unser Selbst…)? Welche Auswirkungen in diesem Konstruktionsprozess haben Hirnverletzungen oder Drogen? (Wie) können wir Realität und Fiktion unterscheiden? 
Das Buch liefert auf knapp 200 allgemeinverständlich geschriebenen Seiten erste Antworten auf diese spannenden Fragen, indem Ergebnisse aus Studien mit bildgebenden Verfahren, psychologischen Experimenten und Patientenstudien dargestellt werden.
