Das Seminar beschäftigt sich mit der Geschichte und der heutigen (Selbst)Darstellung der Hauptstadt, eingeschlossen sind Themen wie Berlin im Film, in der darstellenden Kunst, in der Literatur, Erinnerungsorte in Berlin.
Voraussetzung der Teilnahme sind Überblickskenntnisse zur deutschen Geschichte seit 1871, genauere Kenntnisse zur gesamtdeutschen Geschichte seit 1945 - ich empfehle die Lektüre von Langewiesche (1992), Wolfrum (2007), Weber (2004) oder Mählert (2007) - sowie eine selbständige Vorbereitung auf Berlin-Themen (s.o.).
Eine mehrtägige Studienfahrt wird voraussichtlich im November 2008 stattfinden; Schlüsselqualifikations-Punkte können durch Organisation der Berlin-Fahrt (Koordination, Unterkunft, Stadterkundung, Erinnerungsorte, Museen, ...) erworben werden.
