Alle für DaF/DaZ wichtigen Aspekte von „Bildern“ (im weiten Sinn) und Bildeinsatz sollen betrachtet werden:
-- Kulturelles Bildgedächtnis, Bildkanon, „Fotos des Jahrhunderts“, „Bilder im Kopf. Ikonen der Zeitgeschichte“ (Titel einer Ausstellung im Haus der Geschichte, Bonn, 2009; Zitat: „Diese Bildikonen haben sich als Schlüsselbilder in das kollektive Gedächtnis der Deutschen eingebrannt und prägen das Geschichtsbewusstsein der Nation.“), visual literacy und interkulturelles Bildverstehen;
-- Bildeinsatz bei der Wortschatzarbeit, Grammatik-Visualisierungen, grafische Umsetzungen von Zahlenwerten (z.B. in Diagrammen), Kunstbilder, Wortbilder, Karikatur (aktuelle Landeskunde und Phraseme), Visualisierungstechniken (MindMap), Bilder in Lehrwerken, Illustrationen in Lernerwörterbüchern.
Nach Sichtung von Grundlagenliteratur zur Bildwahrnehmung und -verarbeitung stehen die unterschiedlichen Bildtypen und Verwendungskontexte und der methodische Umgang mit ihnen im Zentrum.
Übrigens, zum Stand der Lehrwerkforschung: „Empirically, too little is known about […] how visual materials influence the learning process.“ (Sercu 2004, zustimmend zit. von Kurtz 2011: 4 [= FLuL 40])
