In diesem Seminar soll Grundwissen zur physischen Geographie (Stadt–Land–Fluss) thematisiert werden, über das DaF-Lehrkräfte verfügen müssen. Neben Deutschland – und seinen Regionen – als Touristenziel werden ebenso spezifische Erinnerungsorte des kollektiven deutschen Gedächtnisses (der Deutsche Wald), auch in ihrer konkreten Variante wie Berlin, Köln(er Dom), Weimar, Ruhrgebiet, Neuschwanstein, Rhein, behandelt.
Exkursionsdidaktik: Eine Studienfahrt nach Greifswald/Stralsund ist, abhängig von der Bezuschussung durch die Universität, vorgesehen; Planung und Durchführung einer solchen Fahrt erfolgt durch Studierende. Literatur zu diesem (in der DaF-Didaktik) wenig thematisierten Bereich wird aufbereitet.
