Die Vorlesung soll die historischen Kenntnisse der Studierenden als eine notwendige Voraussetzung für das sozialwissenschaftliche Studium erweitern. Sie stellt Grundzüge der europäischen Ideengeschichte sowie der Wirtschafts- und Sozialgeschichte anhand von Texten und Autoren vor. Schwerpunkte sind Theorien der Aufklärungszeit sowie die Wirtschafts- und Sozialgeschichte des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts.

Voraussetzung der erfolgreichen Teilnahme: Regelmäßige Anwesenheit sowie die Ausarbeitung von zwei Kurztexten zu in der Vorlesung behandelten Themen bzw. Autoren.
