In the first part of this course you will be made familiar with sociology´s basic concepts, while the second part will concentrate on different theoretical attempts to understand modern society (field theory, rational choice, system´s theory, and discourse-analysis) and also take a look at some of sociology´s technically more elaborate subfields (conversation analysis, network analysis, and game theory).
