In dem Blockseminar werden Stirnhirnfunktionen im gesunden und erkrankten Gehirn besprochen. Nach einer Einführung in die Anatomie und Neurochemie des Stirnhirns werden einzelne neuropsychologische Domänen, die mit bestimmten Teilen des Stirnhirns in Verbindung gebracht werden, dargestellt, wie exekutive Funktionen, Arbeitsgedächtnis, Gedächtniseinspeicherung und -abruf und weitere "höhere" Funktionen, beispielsweise Entscheidungsverhalten und Perspektivenwechsel. Ebenso werden verschiedene psychiatrische Erkrankungen, die mit Störungen des Stirnhirns und seiner Funktionen einhergehen können, behandelt, wie Schizophrenie, Depression und verschiedene Suchterkrankungen.
