230769 Englisch: English for Lunch (Staff only) (S) (SoSe 2024)

Every week during the semester, you have the opportunity to take part in this event online in Zoom and to practise your communication skills in English. Don't expect an English class, but a slice of life with the English language. Just take a look and see if this format can help you to make active English part of your everyday life.
You can use your lunch break for the event or request an exemption from your supervisor during working hours.
Suggestions and requests are always welcome!
There will be a wide variety of topics and activities, including Pictionary, charades, Taboo, English for the office, cultural differences and similarities, English for travelling abroad, idioms, pronunciation tips, grammar tips, being polite in English, and communication exercises. There will also be 'stories' about the everyday life in Bielefeld/Germany.
When the travel restrictions are known, there will be the opportunity for the class to travel to London and really practise what we have learnt throughout the semester.
The emphasis will be on learning English and enjoying it.

Requirements for participation, required level

For staff in the Technical and Administration departments.
