Contents, comment

- The course uses a variety of short texts and technical writing exercises. Students learn how to make effective notes to simplify the writing of their texts, how to avoid plagiarism, how to write factual and comparative summaries, how to write a personal opinion essay and how to write a critical analysis.
- The course includes three major writing projects which will be developed step-by-step throughout the semester, including writing a comparative summary, writing a short story analysis, and writing a text related to a student's studies or career needs.

Requirements for participation, required level

One of the following - either 1, 2 or 3:
1) Successful completion of B1 English Writing or a B2-rated course
2) A B2+ score on the C-Test at the Language Center - for dates please see http://www.uni-bielefeld.de
3) Permission of the instructor.
