Dieser Kurs nutzt das Konzept der Generation, um sich mit Migrationskontexten zu beschäftigen. Das Konzept der Generation kann vielfältig angewendet werden, z.B. kann es Nachfolge innerhalb von Familien beschreiben aber auch eine Kohorte, die ähnliche historische Erlebnisse durchlebt hat. Die Anwendung des Konzepts Generation auf Migrationskontexte hat das Potential, Themen wie Verwandtschaft, Geschlechterrollen und Verhältnisse, oder die Weitergabe von Wissen hervorzuheben und somit ein alternatives Verständnis von Migrationsphänomenen zu vermitteln. Die Kursliteratur beinhaltet Analysen von Migrationskontexten im Globalen Süden und Globalen Norden. Diskussionen von Beziehungen unter Geschwistern sowie zwischen (alternden) Eltern und ihren Kindern stellen einen Schwerpunkt des Kurses dar.
