In der Vorlesung werden die grundlegenden fachdidaktischen Theorien der sozialwissenschaftlichen Fachdidaktiken dargestellt und diskutiert. Ziel der Vorlesung ist die Entwicklung eines ersten Orientierungsrahmens über den ein Zugriff auf die Zusammenhänge, Zielsetzungen, didaktischen Prinzipien, Inhalte und Unterrichtsmethoden des Faches gewonnen werden kann. Auf dieser Grundlage bieten sich im Rahmen der Veranstaltung etliche Möglichkeiten der gemeinsamen Reflexion über Fragen des Unterrichts und der sozialwissenschaftlichen Bezugsfelder.
Ausgehend von der theoretischen Auseinandersetzung werden in der Übung zentrale Gestaltungsprinzipien der sozialwissenschaftlichen Bildung (z.B. exemplarisches Lernen, Kontroversität, Perspektivenwechsel, Problemorientierung, kriteriengeleitete Urteilsbildung, Fallorientierung, Handlungsorientierung) erarbeitet, veranschaulicht und reflektiert.
