Die Vorlesung setzt sich mit dem Politikbegriff sowie grundlegenden Fragestellungen der Politikwissenschaft auseinander und führt in die politikwissenschaftlichen Teildisziplinen ein.
In den begleitenden Übungen werden die in der Vorlesung aufgeworfenen Themen anhand gemeinsamer Textlektüre sowie in Referaten vertieft. Begleitende Tutorien geben Gelegenheit, wissenschaftliche Arbeitstechniken einzuüben und Referate im "Probedurchgang" zu halten.
