Die Veranstaltung dient dazu, Praktika von Studierenden des PSP 'Organisationen' vor- und nachzubereiten. Dabei geht es vor allem darum, die Unterschiede zwischen einer wissenschaftlichen und einer (berufs-)praktischen Auseinandersetzung mit den Problemen von privaten, öffentlichen und Nonprofit-Organisationen herauszuarbeiten und entsprechende "Anwendungsprobleme" der Soziologie zu reflektieren.
Das Seminar soll sich dabei zum einen anhand von Ergebnissen der Verwendungsforschung sowie auch Konzepten der Intervention, Beratung, Evaluation etc. mit Problemen und möglichen Formen der Anwendung organisations-) soziologischen Wissens befassen. Im Mittelpunkt soll dabei zum anderen (und nach Möglichkeit) die Auseinandersetzung mit den konkreten Praktikumsvorhaben und -erfahrungen der Studierenden stehen. Ergänzend werden externe Gäste, insbesondere Absolventen der Fakultät eingeladen, deren Erfahrungen als "Soziologen in der Praxis" im Seminar ausgewertet werden sollen. Über die diesbezüglichen thematischen Interessen wird zu Beginn des Seminars entschieden.
Der Erwerb des "Teilnahmescheins" setzt eine regelmäßige Teilnahme und eine
aktive Mitarbeit im Seminar voraus.
