Am Beispiel von ausgewählten Texten aus dem Zeitraum zwischen 1797 und 1925 (Goethe, Polidori, E.T.A. Hoffmann, Gautier, Gogol, A. Tolstoi, Turgenjew, Sheridan Le Fanu, Maupassant, Stoker, Loring, Blackwood, Ray) wollen wir zentrale Motive des Vampirismus-Diskurses sowie dessen Kontinuitäten und Veränderungen seit dem späten 18. Jahrhundert herausarbeiten.
