Im Mittelpunkt der Veranstaltung steht das Phänomen der face-to-face Interaktion bzw. Kommunikation unter der Bedingung physischer Kopräsenz. Das Seminar bietet einen Überblick über verschiedene soziologische Interaktionstheorien, so werden z.B. Texte von Georg Simmel, George H. Mead, Erving Goffman und Randall Collins gelesen. Darüberhinaus werden exemplarische Fallstudien vorgestellt.
