Obwohl Deutschland zu den reichsten Ländern der Welt gehört, sind viele Kinder von Armut und sozialer Benachteiligung betroffen. Das Seminar beleuchtet Ausmaß, Ursachen und Folgen von Kinderarmut. Welche gesellschaftlichen Faktoren sind für Kinderarmut verantwortlich? Wie wird Armut von den betroffenen Kindern erlebt? Welche Konsequenzen hat das Aufwachsen in Armut für die Sozialisation und für die gesellschaftlichen Teilhabechancen junger Menschen? Darüber hinaus sollen die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen von politischen und pädagogischen Präventions- und Interventionsmaßnahmen kritisch erörtert werden.
