Die Vorlesung gibt einen Überblick über die Geschichte Westeuropas im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert und konzentriert sich dabei auf ausgewählte Probleme der politischen Geschichte. Im Mittelpunkt stehen Fragen der politischen Partizipation, der Revolution(en), der Nationalstaatengründungen sowie der Entstehung und Konsolidierung moderner Diktaturen und demokratischer Gesellschaften.
