Der Körper politischer Repräsentanten ist eines der wichtigsten Darstellungsmittel der Politik. Der Auftritt, die Sprache, Körperbilder und Geste politischer Repräsentanten sind performative Mittel der Politik. Schon Aristoteles ging davon aus, dass der Auftritt und die Rede von zentraler Bedeutung für die Hervorbringung der Wahrheit in der Kommunikation mit den Bürgern waren. Im Laufe der Geschichte hat sich die Struktur der Politik und damit auch die Rolle des Körpers politischer Repräsentanten verändert. Das Seminar bietet den Studierenden einen Einblick in die Körperinszenierung, -bilder, und -Diskursen vom Mittelalter bis heute und analysiert die Bedeutung der Trias "Gender, Class und Race" für Rolle politischer Repräsentanten. Es wird empfohlen, in dem Orientierungskurs "Politische Repräsentation" teilzunehmen.
