Die Lehrveranstaltung wird als „Vorlesung mit Übungsanteilen“ geführt und findet wöchentlich statt (statt bisher Vorlesung und Übung jeweils im 14-tägigen Rhythmus).
Die Veranstaltung führt anhand zentraler Werke in Fragestellungen, Forschungsthemen und Theorien der Wirtschaftssoziologie ein. Ziel ist es, eine spezifisch soziologische Perspektive auf wirtschaftliche Phänomene und Prozesse herauszuarbeiten und auf ihre Leistungsfähigkeit hin zu überprüfen. Anhand von wichtiger wirtschaftssoziologischer Texte, kleinen Inputvorträgen und Audio-Dateien werden die entsprechenden Theorien und Forschungsgegenstände vermittelt und durch Fallbeispiele vertiefend bearbeitet.

Erwartet wird die regelmäßige und aktive Teilnahme an der Veranstaltung, die die Anfertigung von Aufgaben zu Übungszwecken, der aktiven Teilnahme an Gruppenarbeiten und Diskussionen sowie die vorbereitende Lektüre von Texten einschließt (inkl. der Fähigkeit Inputreferate zu den Texten und aktuellen Beispielen zu geben).
Die Inhalte der Lehrveranstaltung sind auch für die modulbezogene benotete Einzelleistung, die in der „Integrativen Lehrveranstaltung“ erbracht wird, relevant (betrifft BA Sowi).
