In der Veranstaltung MPH 18 lernen die Studierenden die grundlegenden Theorien der Gesundheitsökonomie kennen, die ihnen helfen, die ökonomischen Rahmenbedingungen und die Strukturmerkmale von Gesundheitssystemen zu verstehen. Unter anderem werden die Markt- und Güterbesonderheiten des Gesundheitswesens sowie die Finanzierung von Gesundheitsleistungen betrachtet. Dabei werden die Möglichkeiten der Finanzierungsorganisation anhand von nationalen und internationalen Gesundheitssystemen gegenübergestellt, analysiert und potentielle Herausforderungen diskutiert. Darüber hinaus werden verschiedene Steuerungsmechanismen für Anbieter- und Konsumentenverhalten auf Gesundheitsmärkten thematisiert.

Die Prüfungsleistung in dieser Veranstaltung ist eine Modulklausur (Dauer: 90 Minuten), die am Ende des Wintersemesters gemeinsam mit der Veranstaltung „Methoden der demografischen Analyse“ als Modulprüfung (Demografie und Gesundheitsökonomie) geschrieben wird. Der Ersttermin findet am 31.01.2024 (MPD: 402152) und der Zweittermin am 25.03.2024 (MDP: 402153) statt.
