Das Seminar findet digital, live zur genannten Zeit & z.T. digital, im Selbststudium (online synchron/asynchron) statt.
Reformpädagogik bezeichnet eine Vielzahl an pädagogischen Erneuerungsbestrebungen Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts und zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts. Dabei handelt es sich um ein internationales Phänomen. Gemeinsam ist den Reformkonzepten ein veränderter Blick auf den Heranwachsenden: Erziehung und Bildung werden "vom Kinde aus" gedacht; Entdeckergeist und Eigeninitiative stehen vor starren Lernvorgaben und Reglementierungen. Einige dieser Konzepte führten zu konkreten Erziehungs- und Schulmodellen, andere haben Anregungen für schulgesetzliche Vorgaben oder weitere pädagogische Diskurse gegeben. Nach einer allgemeinen historischen Einführung werden wir uns im Seminar mit ausgewählten Ansätzen aus Europa und den USA beschäftigen. Die Konzepte sollen neben den pädagogischen Implikationen auch auf ihr allgemeines Weltverständnis und Menschenbild kritisch untersucht werden.
Ein zentraler Aspekt der Debatte ist die Frage nach der Brauchbarkeit reformpädagogischer Ansätze für gegenwärtige Herausforderungen der Erziehungswissenschaft.
