This course focuses on Britain, introducing you to the most important changes that have taken place in British society, politics, and cultures since the First World War right up to the present. The course will give you some background and context as well as helpful toolkits and terminology (from e.g., Hall, Foucault, Gramsci) for the subsequent in-depth pursuit of individual topics in your PM2 papers.

Requirements for participation, required level

I recommend that students complete BM1 and BM2 before attending Social and Cultural Studies.
