In diesem Seminar werden verschiedene Themen aus dem Bereich "Software Engineering" behandelt. Neben technischen Aspekten, wie z.B. API-Design, erfolgt auch eine Betrachtung von "Soft Skills", die für die Durchführung von Software-Projekten notwendig sind. Ein Beispiel hierfür ist die Projektumfeldanalyse. Weiterhin werden aktuelle Entwicklungen im Bereich "Software Engineering" diskutiert. Dies können zum einen neue Werkzeuge (Programmiersprachen, Entwicklungsumgebungen,...) oder prinzipielle Techniken für die Strukturierung von Softwareprojekten sein. Die Auswahl der Themen erfolgt durch die Teilnehmer zu Beginn der Veranstaltung.

Grundlegendes Wissen über Methoden der Softwaretechnik wird vorausgesetzt. Dieses kann beispielsweise in den Veranstaltungen "Softwaremodellierung mit UML, Projektanalyse und -präsentation" sowie "Softwaregruppenprojekt (TdPE)" erworben werden.
