Das Seminar verbindet eine Lektüre von ‚klassischen‘, seit langem in den gymnasialen Lehrplänen verankerten literarischen Werken der Aufklärung (Lessings „Nathan der Weise“, Goethes „Iphigenie auf Tauris“, Goethes „Faust“) mit einer Reflexion darüber, warum diese Texte im Deutschunterricht (und darüber hinaus) überhaupt noch gelesen und interpretiert werden sollten. Zu diesem Zweck beschäftigen wir uns auch mit neuesten fachdidaktischen Publikationen zur Sinnhaftigkeit (und zum gegenwärtigen Niedergang?) des Literaturunterrichts: Christian Dawidowski: „Literarische Bildung“ (Reclam Verlag, 2022, 6,80 €) und Hans Lösener / Robert Vellusig: „Literarische Erfahrung“ (Reclam Verlag, 2024, 8,00 €). Als dritten Gesichtspunkt des Seminars schlage ich vor zu überlegen, ob die Ideen der europäischen Aufklärung im Zeitalter des Postkolonialismus und des digitalen Zeitalters überhaupt noch zeitgemäß sein können (als Lektüre vorgesehen: Tina Hartmann: „Vergeßt Kant! Was war und was ist Aufklärung wirklich?“ Reclam Verlag 2024, 7,00 €).
