Modalitäten: Voraussetzung für eine erfolgreiche Teilnahme (= unbenoteter LN) ist regelmäßige Anwesenheit, die nachgewiesene Lektüre mehrerer Werke (Lektüreaufgaben erfolgen im Semester) und die Beteiligung an einer Referatsgruppe/Sitzungsvorbereitung. Für einen benoteten LN ist zusätzlich eine schriftliche Ausarbeitung (10 Seiten Text) abzugeben.
Inhalt: Die Garantie der Kunstfreiheit ist eine Säule des bundesrepublikanischen Grundgesetzes, gleichwohl hat es in der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik zahlreiche juristische Auseinandersetzungen um Werke von Schriftstellern gegeben, die nicht selten mit richterlichen Verboten der inkriminierten Literatur endeten. Im Seminar werden Fallgeschichten von der Besatzungszeit bis zur Gegenwart besprochen; u.a. Klaus Manns Mephisto, Günter Grass' Katz und Maus, F.C. Delius' Siemenswelt, Bret Easton Ellis' American Psycho und Maxim Billers Esra.
