"The arrival of Language Learning Strategies research formed part of a fundamental shift of perspective in thinking about the process of language learning (Grenfell/Macaro 2007: 9).

Lernstrategien stellen ein zentrales Thema der Fremd- und Zweitsprachenerwerbsforschung dar, das u.a. in Zusammenhang mit Lernerfolg, autonomem Lernen und strategischer Kompetenz diskutiert wird. Nach einer gründlichen Auseinandersetzung mit den Merkmalen und Klassifikationen von Lernstrategien, widmet sich das Seminar den Fragestellungen, Erkenntnissen und Methoden der Lernstrategieforschung. Die Studierenden haben hier die Möglichkeit, Instrumente zur Erhebung von Lernstrategien kennenzulernen, auszuprobieren und zu reflektieren. Darüber hinaus wird die Frage diskutiert, inwieweit die Erkenntnisse der Lernstrategieforschung im Fremdsprachenunterricht umgesetzt werden.
