Die Kindheitsforschung in der Bundesrepublik berücksichtigt Migrationskindheit eher am Rande, anders die Jugendforschung, insbesondere die Jugendforschung Bielefelder Provenienz: für sie stellt Migration eine zentrale Erfahrung im Leben von Heranwachsenden dar und macht daher einen Gegenstand vor allem der empirischen Jugendforschung aus. Was bedeuten Migrationserfahrungen in den Familien für das Aufwachsen von Kindern und Jugendlichen, wie wird das Aufwachsen unter Migrationsbedingungen in der Erziehungswissenschaft theoretisiert und empirisch analysiert, welche Problembeschreibungen sind in der erziehungswissenschaftlichen Migrationsforschung diesbezüglich anzutreffen?
Im Seminar werden diese Fragen insbesondere anhand empirischer Studien zu Kindheit und Jugend unter Migrationsbedingungen und in Einwanderungsgesellschaften sowohl in nationaler wie in internationaler Perspektive systematisch behandelt. Für die Mitarbeit im Seminar ist die Bereitschaft, viel Literatur zu bearbeiten eine Voraussetzung.
