Die Nutzung des Internets wirft eine ganze Reihe von Rechtsfragen aus unterschiedlichsten Rechtsgebieten auf. In der Vorlesung sollen einige davon näher beleuchtet werden. Behandelt werden e-lektronische Vertragsabschlüsse, die Nutzung von Domains, der Schutz des Urheberrechts im Internet, Grenzen der Werbung auf Webseiten, die Haftung für Rechtsverletzungen sowie besondere datenschutzrechtliche Regelungen.
Die Veranstaltung steht auch Studierenden offen, die nicht am Zusatzstudium "Informatik für Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaftler" teilnehmen. Teilnehmer dieses Studiengangs erhalten die Möglichkeit, einen Leistungsnachweis zu erwerben.
