Zu Beginn des 21. Jahrhunderts müssen Jugendkulturen weltweit vor dem Hintergrund globaler Prozesse gesehen werden. Globalisierung prägt einerseits jugendkulturelle Lebenswelten, anderseits wirken Jugendkulturen als kulturelle Produktivkraft beschleunigend auf den Globalisierungsprozess. Das Seminar umfasst neben der wissenschaftlich-theoretischen Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema "Jugendkulturen und Globalisierung", die empirische Sichtung "neuer" globalisierter Jugendszenen. Eine aktive Mitarbeit an der Erkundung "neuer Jugendkulturen" ist die Voraussetzung für die Teilnahme am Seminar.
