Die auditive Verarbeitung von Sprachschall ist die grundlegende Voraussetzung für sprachlautliche Kommunikation. In dieser Vorlesung werden die wichtigsten physiologischen und psychologischen Vorgänge bei der Wahrnehmung gesprochener Sprache behandelt. Dabei wird zunächst die Anatomie und Physiologie des Gehörs sowie die zentralnervöse auditive Verarbeitung erläutert.
Ein wichtiger Bestandteil des Seminars wird sich psychoakustischen Erkenntnissen, also den Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der auditiven Wahrnehmung und Differenzierung von (Sprach)schallereignissen widmen. Davon ausgehend werden wichtige Fragestellungen und experimentelle Paradigmen der phonetischen Sprachwahrnehmung behandelt. Anschließend wird die Einbettung der Wahrnehmungsphänomene in verschiedene Sprachwahrnehmungsmodelle dargestellt.
