In this seminar, we will close read selected short stories written by the Canadian author Alice Munro. We will pay special attention to Munro´s narrative techniques, recurring characters and themes, and will analyse them in relation to the broader literary discourse. For those of you who would like a head start on the reading material, we will discuss Munro´s 2004 anthology Runaway.
