Der seit einem Jahrzehnt immer wieder skandalisierte signifikante Befund, wonach das deutsche Schulwesen soziale Ungleichheit in besonderem Maße reproduziere, trifft vor allem Schülerinnen und Schüler mit einem sogenannten Migrationshintergrund. Diese für eine demokratische Gesellschaft nicht angemessene Problemlage lässt nach Ursachen und Hintergründen fragen.
Um verstehen zu können, wie (soziale) Ungleichheit entlang des Differenzmerkmals ‚Ethnizität‘ in Bildungsorganisationen re-produziert wird, bedarf es zunächst einer Erarbeitung grundlegender Einsichten in die Funktionen und Funktionslogiken von (Bildungs-)Organisationen. Theoretisch zu erschließen sind darüber hinaus aktuelle sozialwissenschaftliche Wissensbestände zu den Konzepten Ungleichheit und Ethnizität. Erst vor diesem Hintergrund lässt sich – unter Bezugnahme auf einschlägige empirische Studien – (er-)klären, ob und in welchem Ausmaß migrationsbedingte Ungleichheit in Bildungsorganisationen anzutreffen ist.
