Ein Ziel des Seminars ist es, sich computationellen, quantitativen Methoden größeren Textkorpora anzunähern. Es werden neben grundlegenden theoretischen Überlegungen verschiedene Methoden erlernt, mit welchen solche Analysen möglich sind. Dieses Wissen soll anhand eines eigenen, semesterbegleitenden Projektes verfestigt werden.
Komplementär wird ein Blick auf Literatur jenseits des Kanons geworfen, der Fokus liegt dabei auf Fan-Fiction.

Für das Seminar werden keine Programmierkenntnisse vorausgesetzt. Die Bereitschaft, sich aber mit diesen auf einem sehr einfachen Level auseinanderzusetzen, ist jedoch ein Muss. Dieser Kurs richtet sich explizit an Literturwissenschaftler:innen, die nach einem ersten Berührungspunkt mit computationellen, quantitativen Methoden in der Literaturwissenschaft suchen.
