Ausgehend von der Feststellung „History takes place“ geht das Seminar neuen Ansätzen räumlichen Denkens in der Geschichtswissenschaft nach. Dazu werden theoretische Ansätze aus der Sozialgeographie, der Soziologie und der Geschichtswissenschaft diskutiert. Dabei sollen Raum und Zeit sollen nicht gegeneinander ausgespielt werden. Es handelt sich hier nicht um ein mathematisch aufrechenbares Nullsummenspiel von >Weniger< und >Mehr<, wobei ein >mehr Raum< >weniger Zeit< bedeuten würde. Stattdessen geht es darum, das Beziehungsverhältnis von Raum und Zeit neu zu denken.
