300550 Social inequalities from a life course perspective (MA Sozialstruktur und soziale Ungleichheit) (S) (SoSe 2024)

Contents, comment

Social inequalities can extend across a wide range of dimensions and pose significant challenges to societies due to their potential consequences. This seminar will look at the development and, in particular, the reproduction of social inequalities from a life course perspective. To this end, various areas in which social inequality can be observed (e.g. education, material wealth, health) will be examined and linked to various concepts of life course research (e.g. transitions, events, age effects, duration of phases). The interplay between different areas of life and different life courses of individuals is also discussed.
