220056 Giovanni Bellini und Andrea Mantegna - die Renaissance in Venedig, Padua und Mantua (S) (WiSe 2017/2018)

Am Beispiel von Giovanni Bellini und Andrea Mantegna soll das Seminar an Grundfragen der Kunst und Bildkultur der Renaissance heranführen. Bellini und Mantegna waren miteinander verwandt, arbeiteten aber in sehr unterschiedlichen sozialen und ästhetischen Kontexten: Bellini in der Stadtrepublik Venedig, Mantegna zunächst in Padua und später am Hof von Mantua. An beiden Malern lässt sich auf sehr verschiedene Weise beobachten, dass die Malerei der Renaissance keineswegs vorrangig dem Ziel diente, möglichst wirklichkeitsnahe bildliche Darstellungen zu schaffen. - Im Zentrum werden ausführliche Analysen exemplarischer Werke stehen.

Dem Seminar ist die Vorlesung "Malerei der italienischen Frührenaissance" (220059) zugeordnet. Beide Veranstaltungen sollten zusammen belegt und besucht werden.
