This seminar will serve as an introduction to methodological approaches to teaching English in primary school. We will firstly focus on perspectives of the teacher, the learner as well as the curriculum when planning lessons. We will also address the planning process as such and how to work with learning objectives to structure your lesson planning. You will then get to know some of the most widely used methodological approaches to teaching English on a) a theoretical basis as well as b) with some practical ideas for the classroom. Throughout engaging with theoretical foundations and applications for your future teaching, we will particularly focus on making learning accessible for everyone – including the use of digital media.
