392122 Case studies in algorithmic stochastics in (bio)informatics (S) (SoSe 2024)

Contents, comment

The seminar builds on the `Algorithmic stochastics in (bio)informatics' lecture course in the winter term 2014/15 and discusses concrete applications of simulation methods in bioinformatics, such as the use of Markov chain Monte Carlo in sequence analysis, or the construction of hidden Markov models for gene finding. If possible, the seminar will be in the form of a `reading course', that is, all participants read the underlying literature and discuss it in the seminar.
