Das Seminar gibt einen grundlegenden Einblick in das pädagogische Handlungsfeld der Beratung. Es werden verschiedene Beratungsansätze theoretisch thematisiert und Bezug auf die Herausforderungen und Anforderungen im Umgang mit unterschiedlichen Zielgruppen in der Beratungspraxis genommen. Besonderes Augenmerk liegt dabei auf der Zielgruppe der Erstakademiker*innen an der Hochschule, den Herausforderungen und Hürden mit welchen diese konfrontiert sein können und dem professionellen Umgang damit in der Studienberatung. Ziel ist die kritische Reflexion von Beratungsinhalten und des eigenen pädagogischen Handelns.

Diese Veranstaltung berücksichtigt inhaltlich insbesondere die Aspekte des Leitbildes für die Lehre im Hinblick auf Genderaspekte, Vielfalt der Menschen, Persönlichkeitsentwicklung und Berufsfeldorientierung.
