Die Vorlesung behandelt im Zusammenhang mit dem Anfang und dem Ende menschlichen Lebens stehende Fragen wie z.B. Stammzellforschung und Präimplantationsdiagnostik sowie Sterbehilfe. Einen weiteren Schwerpunkt bildet die Auseinandersetzung mit strafbewehrtem Verhalten des Arztes im Rahmen von Diagnostik, Therapie und Nachsorge sowie mit den Wirtschaftsstraftaten im Gesundheitswesen (Abrechnungsbetrug, Vertragsarztuntreue, Korruptionsdelikte).

Die Vorlesung richtet sich primär an Studierende der Schwerpunktbereiche 8 und 9. Es sind jedoch auch alle anderen Studierenden herzlich willkommen, die Interesse an medizin- und biostrafrechtlichen Fragestellungen haben. Grundkenntnisse im Straf- und Strafverfahrensrecht sind von Vorteil.
