"O du lieber Augustin, alles ist hin". Diese rund 200 Jahre alte Kinderlied-Zeile dürften bis heute viele im Ohr haben. Auf youtube finden sich kindgerecht animierte Videos, die das Lied zu Gehör bringen, der Spitzenreiter zählt aktuell passable 8,3 Millionen Klicks. Auffällig dabei, dass vom Originaltext lediglich übernommen wird, dass "Mädel" und "Geld" pfutsch seien, selbst der Untergang der Stadt Wien fehlt mitunter nicht, was aber offenbar doch nicht mehr ins Bild passt, ist der Grund für den Untergang der Metropole, die entsprechende Strophe wird schlicht unterschlagen:
Jeder Tag war ein Fest,
Und was jetzt? Pest, die Pest!
Nur ein groß’ Leichenfest,
Das ist der Rest.Wir wollen uns im Kurs literarischen Texten widmen, die "diese Schweinerei von einer Krankheit" thematisieren. Dabei sind berühmte Autoren (seit der griechischen Antike) auf dem Plan: Ovid, Giovanni Boccaccio, Daniel Defoe, Edgar Allan Poe, Jeremias Gotthelf, Hugo von Hofmannsthal, Karl May, Albert Camus. Aber auch (mehr oder weniger) unbekanntere Namen wie Alessandro Manzoni, Jens Peter Jacobsen, Louis Bromfield, Andrzej Szczypiorski, Selma Stern, Marianne Calmann könnten interessant sein.
