Im Seminar beschäftigen wir uns mit Kindern und Jugendlichen, die in unterschiedlichen Ländern und Regionen in Kontexten aufgewachsen sind, die im weitesten Sinne als "muslimisch" zu bezeichnen sind. Es ist dabei das Anliegen des Seminars, die Heterogenität der Bedingungen des Aufwachsens und der Bildung von Kindern und Jugendlichen mit "muslimischem Hintergrund" im Spannungsfeld zwischen Geschichte, Politik und Religion sowie zwischen Individuum und Gesellschaft aufzuzeigen. Das Seminar soll in diesem Rahmen auch in sehr komprimierter Form grundlegendes Wissen über den Islam und ausgewählte islamische Länder bzw. muslimische Regionen vermitteln.
