Toleranz wird derzeit in Politik, Öffentlichkeit und der Pädagogik als eines der bedeutsamsten Erziehungsziele behandelt. Es ist vor allem vor dem Hintergrund zunehmender gesellschaftlicher Pluralisierung zum herausragenden Erziehungsziel avanciert, ohne innerhalb der erziehungswissenschaftlichen Diskussion einer vertieften Analyse unterzogen worden zu sein.
Im Seminar, das als Lektüreseminar angelegt ist, wird es darum gehen, die Prämissen und Implikationen einer Erziehung zur Toleranz kritisch zu beleuchten und im Hinblick auf ihre Effekte, auch die unbeabsichtigten zu diskutieren.
