Diese Übung führt in grundlegende Arbeitsweisen des physiologisch-biochemischen Labors ein, von der Identifizierung und Quantifizierung einzelner Stoffe bis zur Charakterisierung komplexer stoffwechselphysiologischer Prozesse. Themen der Kurse sind: Arbeitssicherheit und Umweltschutz; Protokollführung/ Quantitatives Arbeiten, Bestimmung von Metaboliten/ Strukturelle und funktionelle Eigenschaften von Proteinen/ Grundlagen der Enzymologie/ Stoffaufnahme; Stofftransport/ Photosynthese und Dissimilation. Zu Beginn eines Kurses werden Fragen, die sich bei und aus der Vorbereitung auf das Tagesprogramm ergeben haben, besprochen. Die theoretischen Lehrinhalte der Übung sind Teil der gleichnamigen Vorlesung (20 10 11) und werden dort ausführlich behandelt.

Die Übung setzt voraus grundlegenden Kenntnisse in allgemeiner und organischer Chemie voraus! Studierenden, die nicht Chemie als eigenes Fach studieren oder die nur über rudimentäre Kenntnisse verfügen, wird daher nachdrücklich der Besuch der Veranstaltung "Vorkurs in Chemie" (Einzelheiten bei Fak. Chemie) empfohlen.
