In der Vorlesung soll ein Überblick über das noch relativ junge Forschungsgebiet der 'social robotics' gegeben werden. Nach einer Einbettung in den wissenschaftlichen Kontext und der Abgrenzung zu anderen Gebieten der Robotik wird im Einzelnen auf verschiedene Hauptkomponenten sozial agierender Roboter eingegangen und der Bezug zur menschlichen Wahrnehmung und Handlung hergestellt. Das Augenmerk wird dabei auf der Herstellung von 'joint attention' als Grundlage von Kommunikation, sowie natürlichsprachlicher Dialogführung und gestischer Interaktion liegen. In einem Ausblick werden schließlich neuere Ansätze zur Einbindung von Emotionen in die Mensch Roboter Interaktion sowie eine Diskussion der Evaluationsproblematik gegeben.
