Es gibt eine Teilnehmerbegrenzung, siehe externe Kommentarseite.
Viele Fragestellungen in den Natur- und Ingenieurwissenschaften laufen am Ende auf die numerische Lösung mathematischer Probleme hinaus, wie z.B. das Lösen von Gleichungssystemen oder das Minimieren von Kostenfunktionen. In dieser Vorlesung wird das häufig benötigte numerische Handwerkszeug kompakt eingeführt.
Die behandelten numerischen Methoden enthalten das Lösen dicht besetzter linearer Gleichungssysteme, Least Squares Approximationen und diskrete Fouriertransformation. Dabei wird auch auf numerische Konzepte wie gut/schlecht konditioniertes Problem oder Maschinengenauigkeit eingegangen.
Zum besseren Verständnis werden einige der besprochenen Methoden und Algorithmen als Miniprojekte implementiert. Diese Mini-Projekte werden in jeweils 2-3 Wochen bearbeitet werden.
Requirements for participation, required level

- Grundkenntnisse in linearer Algebra und Analysis werden vorausgesetzt, zum Beispiel durch die Veranstaltungen Mathe1 und Mathe2.
- Das Bearbeiten der praktischen Übungsaufgaben erfolgt in C++. Es wird einen Crash-Kurs zu C++ geben.
