In dem Seminar "Grundlagen und Methoden der Unterrichtspraxis" geht es vordringlich darum, Kenntnisse zu vermitteln mit Hilfe derer die Teilnehmer/innen selbstständig Unterrichtsaktivitäten, -stunden sowie -reihen lernenden- und lernzielorientiert planen können. Hierfür lernen die Teilnehmer/innen sowohl (heterogenitätssensible) fremdsprachendidaktische Methoden, Instrumente, Tools als auch Aufgabenformate kennen, können Alternativen miteinander vergleichen und sich begründet für eine Variante entscheiden.
Folgende Kompetenzen sollen zudem erlernt werden:

... entwickeln eigene Leitfragen und/oder Beobachtungsbögen für Hospitationen.
...probieren Methoden und Aufgaben/Übungen selbst aus.
...entwickeln eigenständig (aber kooperativ) Unterrichtsmaterialien, geben sich gegenseitig konstruktives Feedback und nutzen Ihren Erkenntnisgewinn für die Überarbeitung von Materialien.
...lernen traditionelle und alternative Verfahren der Leistungsmessung und -bewertung kennen.
