Die Vorlesung gibt einen Überblick über die Wirtschaftsgeschichte des Mittelalters. Sie ist Teil eines viersemestrigen Vorlesungszyklus', der die europäische Wirtschaftsgeschichte vom Mittelalter bis zur Gegenwart abdeckt (Teil II: Frühe Neuzeit, SoSe 23; Teil III: Zeitalter der Industrialisierung, WiSe 23/24; Teil IV: Vom Ersten Weltkrieg bis zur Gegenwart, SoSe 24). Das zugehörige Seminar vertieft und ergänzt die Themen der Vorlesung.
