Die Vorlesung führt ein in die erziehungswissenschaftliche Disziplin und die Profession der Lehrerin / des Lehrers mit Blick auf
- Kinder und Jugendliche als Adressaten pädagogischer Prozesse;
- erziehungswissenschaftlich relevante Prozesse wie Sozialisation, Lernen, Bildung und Erziehung;
- Grundstrukturen wie Biografie, Generation, Geschlecht oder Ethnizität und
- das pädagogische Handlungsfeld Schule.
In den ersten fünf Sitzungen wird von wechselnden Dozenten in zentrale erziehungswissenschaftliche Themengebiete (allgemeine Grundtheorien, Forschungsmethoden, Sozialisation und Medien) eingeführt.
Für die weiteren Sitzungen wird die Vorlesung geteilt. Die Vorlesung für die Lehramtsstudierenden führt in die Schultheorie, Theorien der Schulentwicklung und das Themengebiet "Didaktik und Unterricht" ein. Die Vorlesung für die Kernfachstudierenden setzt sich mit Konzepten des Lebenslanges Lernen, des Lernen Erwachsener, des Bildungs- und Sozialmanagement und der Professionalisierung auseinander.
