In this class students will practice how to write coherent, cohesive, grammatically correct, and stylistically appropriate texts in academic settings - this also includes a focus on how to structure such texts and how to approach the academic writing process. Students will intensively familiarize themselves with the editing process. In order to achieve these goals, students will evaluate print and online resources, use resources effectively and responsibly, produce texts in several different formats, and review the work of their peers on a regular basis. In this sense, the class aims to teach students to be confident and productive writers. Further, by reading and evaluating other writers’ texts, the course also teaches students to be more focused and attentive readers.
